The IJISF welcomes submissions on a wide range of topics related to Shariah family and personal law. The journal's scope includes, but is not limited to:

  • Inheritance and Bequest: Principles of fara'id (Islamic inheritance law) and wasiyyah (bequest).

  • Child Custody and Guardianship: The legal rights and responsibilities concerning children (hadanah).

  • Legal Pluralism: The intersection of Islamic family law with state laws, customary laws, and international human rights.

  • Judicial Practice: Analysis of rulings and procedures in Islamic courts and religious tribunals.
